Marc Vetere
The Owner
Meet Marc Vetere, a Prescott, Arizona native with over 25 years of experience in both residential and commercial landscaping. Marc’s passion for beautifying homes and businesses through custom landscaping began when he was just 15 years old. In 2009, he started Manzanita Landscaping to meet local landscaping needs and has since grown the business into a team of professionals with a focus on providing the best service and workmanship achievable.
Additionally, he founded a partner nursery and supply yard that provides most of the materials for Manzanita Landscaping’s projects, which he manages with a team of eight managers and a general manager. When Marc isn’t hard at work, he enjoys spending time with his family, including his wife, two daughters, two grandchildren, and three dogs. He also enjoys being outdoors and participating in activities such as snowboarding, golf, fishing, and hiking. With his passion for nature and dedication to providing the best service, Marc Vetere and his team of landscaping professionals provide landscaping services to help you with all aspects of your landscaping needs.

The Team
We know a company is only as good as its employees, so we hire the best landscaping professionals available. The landscape industry is very diverse, with many different trade skills needed, so we seek out specialists in each field to provide the best service and workmanship achievable.
Our team of employees is expert in plant species and selection, masonry, plumbing, electrical, concrete, certified irrigation, and maintenance. We also ensure our maintenance personnel are experienced in plant health, irrigation, low-voltage electrical, and equipment operation. Our employees also receive regular training to keep them updated on proper safety, horticultural practices, and irrigation technologies to continue to be the best landscapers in the area.

A fun fact, hobby, or interest outside of work:
I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, and taking advantage of just about any outdoor adventure. My appreciation for nature extends into my work, where my favorite plants to incorporate into landscapes are Salvia and Autumn Sage, valued for their beauty, resilience, and ability to attract pollinators.

My favorite tree is the Austrian Pine, admired for its year-round color, durability, and timeless appearance in the landscape. Whether I’m installing a new landscape, enhancing an existing outdoor space, or helping clients bring their ideas to life, I am committed to creating landscapes that are built to last and enjoyed for years to come.

My journey began in high school in Colorado, where I first started landscaping, leading me to study Landscape Horticulture at CSU Fort Collins. Since then, I have been entirely dedicated to the industry, driven by the creative process of design and the challenge of bringing those designs to life.
What I enjoy most about this industry:
As a former business owner and long-time Director of Operations, I have a comprehensive understanding of the landscape lifecycle—from initial design and advanced irrigation systems to complex construction and multi-year project management. Having successfully led teams and managed operations across California and Arizona, I combine practical field expertise with strategic insight to deliver superior, cost-effective results for our clients.

I got my first job at a garden center when I was 18, and I’ve loved this industry ever since. Over the past 40-plus years, I’ve had the opportunity to work in many different areas of horticulture and landscaping, including garden centers, floral, wholesale growing, garden center management, landscape project management, design, and sales.
What I enjoy most about this industry:
I truly love the landscaping industry, especially the horticultural side of it. But if I had to choose my favorite part, it would be meeting clients, building relationships, and helping bring their vision to life. There’s something really special about creating outdoor spaces that people can enjoy for years to come.
A fun fact, hobby, or interest outside of work:
When I’m not working, I love spending time with my family, especially my kids and grandchildren. I also enjoy working in my own garden, being outdoors, tackling building projects, quilting, knitting, cooking, and curling up with a good book.

I have far too many favorite plants to pick just one. What I love most are projects that transform an existing space. Whether it’s a small refresh or a complete makeover, it’s so rewarding to change the feel of a space and create somewhere people truly love to spend time.

In my free time, I am a soccer referee. I also work in soccer player development and training, and I am a body artist in the tattoo industry.

My favorite plant is the Guaria Morada, which is the national flower of my home country, Costa Rica.
